A note from Aaron…
The following is a letter sent to me from Aaron Thacker. Aaron is a Maricopan at heart and has worked in our community as a reporter for 85239 and also a teacher at Maricopa Wells. Currently he is serving in Iraq and is one of the recipients of Bailey’s Boxes.
I encourage you to read his blog http://armyofmine.wordpress.com/
Thank you to Bailey Boxes
Terri,
I just want to send a quick thank you to Herb Bailey for his Bailey Boxes.
I’ve had the pleasure to work with Herb as a member of the Maricopa VFW, Post 12043. He is a very generous man who is devoted to the cause of supporting troops.
He has been sending me Bailey Boxes to share with the troops since I arrived here in October. I know he continues this effort in other parts of the country as well as in Afghanistan.
These pieces of home that I get have been great for my morale, as well as the morale of the troops around me.
He usually sends several boxes at a time so I can distribute them to other soldiers. This is an important point because soldiers are like any other cross section of America with diverse financial backgrounds. Some of my troops would get nothing in not for Bailey Boxes.
Having said that, thanks again to Herb and groups like the Chamber, the Maricopa VFW and Stormin’ Norman who help support the morale of the troops.
Take care and Merry Christmas.
