Unsolicited Emails….

Lately it seems that there have been quite a few “unsolicited” email blasts going out to Chamber Members offering a wide variety of different advertising opportunities. While I appreciate what some of these entrepreneurs are trying to do, and I do contact City Hall to check on licensing, it is my responsibility to look out for Chamber Members and when they contact me repeatedly asking “Who are these people?” and “How did they get may e-mail address?” I need to respond and let them know to be careful and use their money wisely. It is unfortunate that our printed directory is being used as an email collection tool and rest assured we will not be putting email addresses in it next year.

Over this past year we have been inundated with different types of companies and marketing techniques, some legitimate and some not so legitimate. The worst offenders are those claiming to be endorsed by or in cooperation with the Chamber. Alas, this is not a problem specific to Maricopa. I receive emails from fellow Chamber Executives giving me a “heads up” on what is going around so we can try to protect our Members from being taken advantage of.

The Chamber supports all small business and puts its members first. I try my best to keep people informed and educated about what is going on, good & bad. This office runs on honesty and integrity with the ultimate goal of seeing business thrive. We are here to help and support you in any way possible.

To close let me remind you that if you need any assistance with marketing ideas, website development, and setting up your “Traffic Catcher” site or just need to vent, my office is always open for you and I am never too busy for a member.
