Food Bank Needs Donations

General — tkingery on May 5, 2008 at 2:49 pm

F.O.R. Maricopa stands for, Food, Opportunity, Resources Maricopa and is celebrating its 1 year anniversary on May 9th, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

The celebration will be held at their current location 19235 Gunsmoke Rd. This bursting at the seams mobile home has been their location since inception May 2007. Run entirely by volunteers and the energy of Wendy Webb, this organization blossomed from the need Wendy saw within our young community.

Since May of 2007 Wendy and her team have fed, clothed, provided holiday meals and gifts for no less than 200 families here in Maricopa and the need keeps growing. Fiercely protective of these families anonymity Wendy says that she is seeing the same 50 families returning each Monday morning to pick up their weekly food basket.

The Food Bank is open on Mondays from 10:00-11:30 AM. If you would like to make a food donation here is a recommended list if items:

Canned Vegetables
Hamburger/Tuna Helper / Packaged Dinners
Dry Pasta/Rice/Beans
