Maricopa Chamber of Commerce Supports Prom Promise

General — tkingery on April 25, 2008 at 8:17 pm

Prom is one of the most exciting times in a teenager’s life, but also one of the most dangerous!
According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, on a typical prom weekend:

48 American teenagers are killed in vehicle accidents

5,202 are injured in vehicle accidents

40% of the deaths are alcohol-related

Based on statistics like these, CW6 and local advertisers are teaming up to promote a drug- and alcohol-free prom.

Make the Promise!
I pledge by signing this Prom Promise to be alcohol free and drug free on Prom Night.

I agree to abstain from alcohol. I will not accept a ride from anyone who has been drinking alcohol, nor will I bring any alcoholic beverages into a vehicle.

I will be drug free and I will not take or accept any drugs from anyone.

I will have a great time and will be able to remember my Prom Night as a happy and joyous occasion. I promise to use common sense and I understand that these are choices that only I can make.

If you are 18 years old or older, you can submit your pledge online, by filling out the form below.

If you are between 14 and 17 years old, please download the form and mail it to: CW6 – Prom Promise, 5555 N 7th Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85013.

Check out these prizes!
